Alyssa has a fairly normal life. She's a fourteen year old country gal living in Southern Alabama. She lives twenty
minutes from the closest town- if you can even call it that, its so small. She likes to spend her days tending to the horses
her family owns or keeping up on one of a few hobbies she has. Nothing out of the ordinary.
On a normal evening riding her horse on the beach, August 7th suddenly became one of Alyssa's worst nightmares. Trapped by strangers, shes taken from the only home shes ever had into the world of her very strange kidnappers. The threesome that are in charge of Alyssa is not what she'd expect. Alyssa knows there is more than what meets the eye, but is unable to reveal her captor's secrets.
Her once normal life will be completely changed, whether she escapes and lives or not. Her only chance for survival is to be as sneaky and coniving as the horrible people she now lives with. Can she keep a straight mind, even when unexpected situations continue to come flying her way?

An Alliance called The Shadow Warriors have been walking this planet from the beginning of The Dark's formation. Earth's own Living World was not meant to behold creatures of The Dark; the creatures that call themselves The Shadows.
Layla learns of this society and it's sworn oath and debt to keep the Living World free of the Emil, the creators of The Shadows. Not only is she privalaged enough to learn of the society, but she is suddenly the one that has to lead it. Lead it, and save the world from becoming overrun by the destruction of The Shadows and taken over by the Emil themselves.
Pulled from her own world and into that of The Shadow Warriors, Layla begins to lose tocuh with who she is. Shes unsure of her capabilities as a leader and a savior. Then, when she learns she must eventually travel into the seperate world of The Dark, Layla's gripped in a fear so strong she hinders herself almost useless; and hinders the lives of every living person.

Bring in Clara, a twenty-four year old woman suddenly running into a mysterious stranger everywhere she looks. When it occurs to her she must be being followed, Clara can't resist following him right back. But how can she, when he seems to watch her every move?
Clara unwittingly puts her life in mortal danger. This stranger is unlike any other. Keeping up with the mysterious man any longer not only puts her life in jerpordy in so many ways, but it also endangers the lives of others.
The two together can cause utter destruction, or end the suffering of one man and save future suffering for many more. But when all options point at death, how can you decide?
